Algorithm Development

Advanced methods of signal and data processing, largely based on digital architectures and advanced algorithms, are greatly increasing the potential performance of modern commercial and military systems. Signal processing algorithms generally seek optimization under a prescribed set of conditions. These algorithms are not, however, always robust to a departure from these conditions. Therefore, sensor algorithm design involves selecting the ideal signal processing algorithm or combination of algorithms, and understanding the strengths and limitations of each, along with the performance characteristics of the sensor and the operational environment. Successful system development depends primarily on insight into the limits of the processing hardware, the options for algorithms that achieve sufficient performance within the hardware constraints, and the nominal conditions for optimum performance. At WEMSS Lab we are specialized in the development and the application of algorithms for the following sectors:
